Personal Services

We offer personal services for elite athletes and their families to help them make proper decisions and identify various opportunities.

These opportunities involve many options. For a small number of teenage hockey players, their options include becoming a student-athlete or to play major junior hockey. The problem is that with one of these options, the possibility of remaining eligible can be extinguished through several activities that one is most likely completely unaware of. One such rule (activity) is contained below....

NCAA Rule on Amateurism - A. General Rule. An individual shall be ineligible for participation in an intercollegiate sport if he or she ever has agreed (orally or in writing) to be represented by an agent for the purpose of marketing his or her athletics ability or reputation in that sport. Further, an agency contract not specifically limited in writing to a sport or particular sports shall be deemed applicable to all sports, and the individual shall be ineligible to participate in any sport. [12.3.1]

We are very aware of the athlete's onus on ensuring that his/her eligibility remains intact. We work within the rules to ensure that such status in not jeopardized through our involvement in anyway.

We are aware of the many opportunities that can arise to affect the ability of a player to take full advantage of the scholastic route to success using his/her hockey talents and previous investment.

As a family advisor for many young hockey players and their families, and having two sons who have been through it, I am keenly aware of the various options and possible landmines that are constantly present which can severely limit future opportunities. Accepting a benefit, even the reimbursement of a legitimate travel expense, or attending a tryout can make a player ineligible for other opportunities. Most families are unaware of the rules until it is too late.

That's where we come in.

We are available to help out.... drop me a line if you think you may require our assistance.
